Are You Into Leather?

When asked, " Do you like leather?", many people envision tall muscular men and women yielding whips and making demands.

Others recall Marlon Brando perched on a huge motorcycle.

There are many relatively tame, law abiding citizens who are designing items with leather that could be considered works of art.

Animal hides has protected us from the elements for thousands of years and the use of exotic animal skins in fashion shows has been known to result in blood soaked models!

Leather and suede painted with zebra and leopard patterns is a much better way to enjoy the beauty of exotic animal skins.

Crafting with cowhide and suede which is more acceptable can turn many projects into something chic and sophisticated.

People have done interesting things while dressed in leather.
OOPS!

I meant to say, people have done interesting things with and to leather, as listed below:

1 Dyed/painted and stamped
2. Stretched
3. Wet, washed and ironed
4. Etched
5. Sewn
6. Molded

Leather's texture and durability can allow one to get quite creative and experimental!

Home decor accents and fashion accessories take on another dimension when designed with leather or suede.

Pillows, jewelry, clothing and furniture made from leather always says style.

There's an artist in Maryland who designs leather corsages and bridal bouquets.

So, crafters, hobbyists, etc,
Instead of working with boring polka dots, tired plaids, bunnies, scrapbooks, plastic, and yarn.

Be daring,
YOU CAN HAVE A LOT OF FUN WITH LEATHER!

But, remember that special leather tools are necessary to ensure professional quality for your finished projects.

Now, Jump to it!
Get into some leather!
